Freedom. Not bound by the walls of the Underground anymore. No longer restricted by the gun of the Director. No longer forced to stand by idly as the Underground wastes way. Now, the wind blows. It causes Ariel's hair to fly into her face, blinding her. Cicero chuckles.

They both pause for a second. Ariel spent so long thinking about Cicero. Thinking about why he left, why was she abandoned, why did she have to fend for herself. And Cicero thought too. Why did he have to pick up that paper, why was he forced to abandon his daughter, why was he condemned to spend his life in the dark and lonely Obscurus. There was no just reason. There was only misfortune.

But as another gust of wind blew a pile of sand into Cicero's face, they both laugh. What does time apart in the past mean when the future has you together. The past world may not have been kind to the Wolfes, but the future will not tear them apart. Now, they can be a family again.
